Out of the Shadows

Out of the Shadows ~ 6" x 6" oil on panel

Here's a change from the cows...I missed my horses! Cows are fun, but maybe I'm feeling more serious today. Horses are a lot more dignified, don't you think?
The challenge in painting this was taking my substandard reference photos and getting the look of dramatic light on them! This worked out alright, me-thinks!
You can own this little lady by clicking right down here, to bid in the Daily Paintworks auction...

Sorry for the Long Absence

"Charlie" a commission for a great friend
8" x 10" oil on canvas panel

I know I haven't posted in awhile, and perhaps I should change the title, as has been suggested, but I do really hope to be back to "Almost Daily" soon.  Life has been busy...I've been creating...a lot! Just trying to find my direction, which has changed since I started this blog. So thanks for your patience!

Serenity -- Mute Swan on pond

Serenity -- 6" x 8" oil on canvas
for sale on ebay tomorrow (Sun, May 29, 6:00pm PST)

Here's a new daily painting I finished yesterday. I have to graciously thank "scalespeeder" on flickr for his generous permission to use his photo. I was very attracted to the drama of the backlight glistening through the wings of the swan, and the perfect reflection.  I saw many mute swans in my travels in Ireland, but none of my photos were this "painting worthy."
It was a fun little painting to do. I have limited edition, archival giclee prints on museum quality paper for sale as well. Drop me a line if you're interested.
