Sunlit

                                                        "Sunlit"  ACEO -- SOLD

It's spring, finally...I think... The large patches of snow beg to differ, but the temperature on the thermometer is finally agreeing. (Is that a word? It sounds funny...lol!) I'm really tired today. I ran 9km, painted for four hours, only to have to basically start over...way too much time to spend on a 6 x 6 painting, cooked a few meals, picked up after the kids...put them to bed...How does one have the time to stay in shape, raise a family, try to be an artist, and be a wife...YAWN! Okay, well I'm going to go to bed now, but I'll leave you with this little horse I painted the other day. I've been painting A LOT! I just haven't been posting much. There's the cows...and the swan...and a lot of cats, haha. I will post some more soon.
Bye for now.

Silence - Daily Painting - Boat in the Mist

Silence ~ 6" x 6" oil on Raymar canvas panel

I did this little painting as a study for a larger one, but I like the small one so much, I've decided to offer it for sale on Ebay. The few colors and mist creates such a mysterious mood.
Bidding starts at $19.99. If you're interested, click on my ebay widget link to the right of my blog post. It will be active from March 20 - 27th.

The Busketeers

The Busketeers -- Temple Bar, Dublin, Ireland

These guys were so talented and so entertaining, a mix between rock, irish, and slavic music that was captivating! The guy with the fiddle was hilarious. I stayed for their whole performance, along with a group of at least 70 other people they'd attracted in the street. And I bought their CD. It was a fun afternoon.

The Snow Queen

The Snow Queen ~ 12" x 16" oil on canvas
NFS

Another one of my daughter, Rhiannon, lol! I just can't stop painting my kids:)
We went for a walk in Saloompt Forest Trails the other day. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the sun was filtering down through the gorgeous, old growth cedar trees.  It is really beautiful there, but it got quite messed up from the flood in September. A lot of debris everywhere. My husband snapped the photo for this and I was immediately taken by it. Her expression is mysterious, like the forest, and the dappled sun on snow was so eye-catching. I just had to paint it! Finally...I painted this one loose enough! YAY! I did it, I did it...Hooray! I love this painting, what can I say!
It looks way better in real life, and of course better bigger...click on the image for a larger view.

The House of Noomst, Bella Coola

House of Noomst~oil on canvas $825.00

I've been very busy lately, painting, but not posting. I've secured a studio/gallery space at the local hotel and restaurant, and I've been going "to work" every day until my kids finish school. It's been great fun, meeting and talking to adults for a change:) And I've been keeping up the ebay cards, too, to pay for paint, haha!
I didn't bother to do a work in progress for this one, it would have been too tedious, lol!
It ended up being tighter than I wanted--haha, the story of my life! But, I'm still happy with it.

This is a 40+ year old pole on the Bella Coola Townsite. The building is now a youth center, but is scheduled to be torn down soon. It is unsafe, and the pole is rotted through at the base. I'm glad that I was able to paint it before it disappeared, as do so many old landmarks around here. The pole is a replica of one of the original poles on a chief's house of the original native village that was here before "white man" came. I think it's beautiful, and an important part of our heritage. I hope they can salvage at least the upper part and display it somewhere after the building is torn down.
I'll keep posting some of my new work over the next few days.
Bye for now!
