"In Progress" 24"x36"

Here is the first step in my new painting. This is pretty much about 6-7 hours of work. I've pretty much worked out the drawing, I'll fix any glitches in the painting stage, as I'm getting tired of erasing rooftops! In the painting, most of the buildings, with the exception of the Duomo, will be merely suggested, but I felt that I needed to draw them in nonetheless, in order to get the perspective right.
I'll post the next installment soon. Cheers!

Beach Babe

Beach Babe 6x6 oil on panel

My beautiful girl...Rhiannon at the Beach in Maui.
I started my monster painting today. I'm already struggling. I think it's artist's block, because it's big and intimidating. I need to think more positively for tomorrow. And I'll post my first in progress of it, too.
G'night for now.

Brotherly Love

"Brotherly Love" 20"x24" oil on canvas NFS

Here's the companion piece to "A Walk on the Beach". My lovely children, Rhiannon and Jacob in a beautiful, brother/sister moment:) I can't bear to part with this one, so it won't be for sale.
I have many new paintings to post, and a huge "masterpiece" to start soon, so check back often.
I'll be posting "in progress" pictures for the "masterpiece". I'm calling it that because it's large, and because I think that to date, it will be the most challenging painting that I've ever attempted. I've done a few landscapes, and a few buildings, and you all know that I love to paint people, but this piece has it all.
Well, back to the drawing board....
Ciao!

Inishmore

"Inishmore" 12x16 oil on panel $400.00

I remember the day when I took the reference photo for this painting so well! I was stuck at an intersection on my rented bicycle behind this pony cart driver on Inishmore Island, in Ireland. We were waiting for about ten other pony carts and bicycles, and a minivan and I took advantage of the moment to ask to take his picture. He has such a magnificently craggy, character-filled face! And he kind of frowned, and looked off in the distance, and said "Fine then, shoot away." No smile, nothing...but I remember it fondly...

My Little Artist

"My Little Artist" 18 x 24 oil on canvas
$800.00

Here's another fairly recent painting from my gallery show. Please excuse the horrible glare in the photo. It isn't there in real life.
I caught Jacob in a beam of light through our big sliding glass windows, and I couldn't resist painting the play of light and shadow. I also love to paint my children when they're doing art, which is often!

mother and child, beach painting

A Walk on the Beach - Tofino, 24" x 48" oil on canvas $2,000

Hi all, I'm back!! Yay! We finally have had our internet issues resolved, hopefully this time for good, so I will be much better at posting now. Ever since we got back from holidays, we've been on dial-up (and very slow dial-up at that) which made it virtually impossible to upload any artwork. I was also painting like crazy for my show, which is currently being shown at the Station House Gallery. Now that it is up, I feel like it's okay to unveil some of the new paintings that are for sale there. If anyone is interested, please contact me at tahirih_camelle@hotmail.com.
Bye for now.

"Keiki Hula Girl" 14"x 18" oil on canvas

Aloha from Maui everyone,
this is one of my newest paintings, not from my upcoming show, so I feel like it's okay to show it:) The photo is horrible...the paint is still slightly wet and the camera seems to have managed to pick up previous layers of paint in the background...weird...you can't see them when you look at the original. In fact, I'm going to try for some better pics of this one. Anyways, here it is for now,
Enjoy
