Inishmore

"Inishmore" 12x16 oil on panel $400.00

I remember the day when I took the reference photo for this painting so well! I was stuck at an intersection on my rented bicycle behind this pony cart driver on Inishmore Island, in Ireland. We were waiting for about ten other pony carts and bicycles, and a minivan and I took advantage of the moment to ask to take his picture. He has such a magnificently craggy, character-filled face! And he kind of frowned, and looked off in the distance, and said "Fine then, shoot away." No smile, nothing...but I remember it fondly...

My Little Artist

"My Little Artist" 18 x 24 oil on canvas
$800.00

Here's another fairly recent painting from my gallery show. Please excuse the horrible glare in the photo. It isn't there in real life.
I caught Jacob in a beam of light through our big sliding glass windows, and I couldn't resist painting the play of light and shadow. I also love to paint my children when they're doing art, which is often!

mother and child, beach painting

A Walk on the Beach - Tofino, 24" x 48" oil on canvas $2,000

Hi all, I'm back!! Yay! We finally have had our internet issues resolved, hopefully this time for good, so I will be much better at posting now. Ever since we got back from holidays, we've been on dial-up (and very slow dial-up at that) which made it virtually impossible to upload any artwork. I was also painting like crazy for my show, which is currently being shown at the Station House Gallery. Now that it is up, I feel like it's okay to unveil some of the new paintings that are for sale there. If anyone is interested, please contact me at tahirih_camelle@hotmail.com.
Bye for now.

"Keiki Hula Girl" 14"x 18" oil on canvas

Aloha from Maui everyone,
this is one of my newest paintings, not from my upcoming show, so I feel like it's okay to show it:) The photo is horrible...the paint is still slightly wet and the camera seems to have managed to pick up previous layers of paint in the background...weird...you can't see them when you look at the original. In fact, I'm going to try for some better pics of this one. Anyways, here it is for now,
Enjoy

christmas aceo's for sale

Here's a few aceos I did for ebay today. I had kind of an aimless day, I suppose. One could call it "art avoidance"... I have a large painting I am about to attempt for my show at the gallery in April, and I'm putting it off. I guess I'm intimidated by its size, or that it's more complicated...I don't know. I'm just putting it off. Which isn't good. Because I need to have about four more paintings in about six more days. I guess I just work better under pressure:)
Anyways, these little guys were fun, and maybe I'll make a few bucks. So bid now!:)

It wasn't Me!?

"It Wasn't Me!"

This is my daughter, shooting me a bit of a dirty look for some reason or another. She's probably getting sick of me following her around with the camera:) I love to paint my children. I love to paint all children, actually. The are so free, so unconcerned with how they look. With children you're always getting their "real" personality, no cover up for the camera.
And I have news! Real news, good news! I got a show, at a real gallery, with an opening reception, and wine and cheese! So for any local B.C.ers, it will be at the Station House Gallery for the month of April. Stop by and have a peek. This painting will be included, but I'm not going to show you any more, it will be a surprise till after the show.

The Irish Busker painting a day daily painting for ebay

"The Irish Busker" 8"x10" oil on canvas

I came across this delightfully eccentric looking Irish busker in Galway, Ireland in September. I just had to take a picture. I finished painting him in one sitting while attending my table at the above mentioned Arts and Crafts Fair.
Oh yeah, bye the way...I went to Europe...for a month...ahem:) I forgot to mention it. I guess I was worried if I started to write about that trip, I wouldn't be able to stop. I saw sooooo much! The Uffizzi, the "real" David, by Michelangelo...I climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa, I went for a Gondola ride in Venice, I saw Newgrange in Ireland, and Stonehenge in England...so much! If you want to see some Europe photos feel welcome to check out my Facebook album at: my facebook page.
Anyways, this painting is now for sale on ebay at a very special reduced starting bid, just for you christmas shoppers:) If you want to bid click on my ebay link in the scrolling gallery when the pic comes up. (My hubby is selling a whole bunch of music equipment too, if you're interested.) Happy Bidding!
